  Volume-wise Coverage Back

Highlights the concept of contents in literature. Scores of question (item) resources are included here as constituent models for the construction of tests & examinations of varying length and difficulty level. They could be used for collecting and quantifying the essentials of literature mastered (as part of learning) towards making objective assessment. Being built up on a dimensional problem, every item is presented in an Item File Card (IFC) format with bilingual instructions. The item resources which are prepared on each of the sub components pragmatically classified under genesis3.1,generics3.2, aesthetics3.3, and affectives3.4 facilitate assessing the mastery of literature in all its dimensions with sampling error free content coverage. Theoretical premises are explained in the introductory part. Attempted for the first time in the discipline of literature in Indian languages, this work will serve as a help line to those who want to construct mastery tests in literature discipline at various levels of education.


[3.1] Genesis is concerned with origin and development of the given piece of literature; dimensions associated with the background of literature such as evolution, etc., duly obtained from direct (internal) as well as indirect (external) sources are dealt with here.

[3.2] Generics is concerned with various genres of literature; dimensions associated with various categories of poetry (1,2,3), prose (1,2,3) and drama (1,2) duly obtained directly from the literary pieces are dealt with here.

[3.3] Aesthetics is concerned with the artistic elements occurring at the discrete as well as the discourse levels of literature; dimensions associated with various categories of artistic elements are dealt with here.

[3.4] Affectives is concerned with the appreciation and criticism of the given literary piece; levels of ideology, approach, and inter-relatedness such as values that make an influence (impact) on the individuals and community are dealt with here.
